Hampton Lovett successfully coordinated the nullification of business rates for one of our investment properties from in excess of £26,000 per annum to the rightful amount of ZERO! We will certainly look to work with them for other properties in due course.
If you are a property owner, investor or rent properties we strongly recommend speaking to their team at to aim to at the very least reduce or even nullify your business rates or council tax.
Businesses as ours already contribute a great deal to the local economy and need as much support as possible along with fair treatment in order to progress.
Unfortunately it must be emphasised even in austere times local authorities nationwide will not sympathise with your situation so the onus is on the business owners to press for any due tax relief or reimbursements of unjust overpayments.
In our experience the team at Hampton Lovett have demonstrated:
1. a clear understanding of the tax ratings system and what has and hasn’t got a chance of being challenged.
2. generated a plan of action to cleary show that we were made to unfairly pay when we should not have advising us what to provide to initiate the challenge process (supporting evidence/documents etc),
3. and chased up the Valuation office to implement what was in our case a clearly unfair & wrongful tax liability imposed by the authority.
If left unchallenged we would have had to continue to pay rates for a property that was clearly not functional whatsoever. Our coordinated effort with the team @Hampton Lovett at the helm saw our challenge of unfair treatment over the line resulting in thousands of pounds of savings along with the reimbursement of overpayments from the authorities.
